Went down at dawn with little hope of seeing any waders, the tide being up.
It was a beautiful sea with a young Osprey directly overhead and a Sacred Kingfisher pushing ahead of us.
Upriver were pairs of Sooty and Pied Oystercatchers.
The Overwintering project on waders starts in this region next week.
