The Everglades, a great Australian garden

It’s mid-March, the colours are starting to emerge. At any time of year, this garden with its mix of formal and informal features, native and exotic plantings is spectacular.

The architect Sorensen was also a very good horticulturalist who appreciated native trees, which at the time was unusual.

The house is a 1930s Art Deco treat. The National trust run it and the volunteers I met were all friendly. Inches away from a Blue Mountains Water Skink my battery died.
