It’s not yet winter but it’s spring, so many birds back, or re-appearing, Scarlet Honeyeaters, Yellow Thornbills. Oyster Creek remains flooded, though no decent rain for weeks. The mosquitoes, pesky for a week, have gone, a few baby leeches about.
The reserve has only been in place for just over a decade, evidence of its past are everywhere.
