Today BirdLife Australia launched the report, Restoring the Balance: the case for a new generation of Australian Environmental Laws. Typically, awful and ridiculous reading ‘with thousands of species now threatened with extinction’.

The opposition environment spokesman, Tony Burke, comments, “You can’t protect species without protecting habitat. That means using a series of powers available under law.” But will there ever be good legislation and legislation that is effectively enforced!!

This weekend BirdLife Northern NSW are having a campout at Urunga beside the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers (flood warnings upstream). I am looking forward to helping show visitors our local birds.
