Spring, in the mix

Not a cloud in the sky just rainbows, Lorikeets
and first of the season’s Bee-eaters streaming
colourful contrails around the blue immense
and in the Asian garden, our first Japonica bloom
pink as an adolescent’s blush. The cutting
stolen off a bush by the side of the highway,
and inside the horseshoe, the last Snowbell
hanging beneath the bare arms of a familiar
Frangipani. We don’t know how they got here.
