RIP Phillip Hughes
In Macksville Friday Nov 28th. Many tributes were visible and flags at half mast after the Australian batsman died yesterday.
The #putoutyourbats were visible
I was trying to recall if I has seen him play at the SCG, television confuses, but I don’t think so. He only played three tests at the ground.
People are dying everyday in appalling ways in many conflict zones, but one is touched by someone you had watched play, who died playing an aggressive, exciting stroke, filled with danger for any batsman, particularly Hughes (danger used in the role of giving one’s wicket away).
We left the country town in a glorious light, the rain over the last two days had washed the air clean. I had to stop by the river, just for the light.
