Breakfast by the Nyambaga
Mosaic-dtl. Guy-Crosley-and-local-volunteers, Nambucca main street. It is a huge mosaic the riverscape winding down to the sea.

This music is plastering a grin across my face

1848 – a revolutionary year
A group of painters settled around the French village of Barbizon near the Fontainebleau forest. They focused on painting en plein-air finding it more immediate, accurate and truthful. The United States National Herbarium was founded. Agnes Catlow published, Popular Field Botany, London, Reeve, Benham, and Reeve.

And – John Muir published, A Near View of the High Sierra. He knew the geology of the region, tracks through the mountains, and the names of the animals and plants. His writing about the Yosemite area inspired the creation of the national park. (I have visited twice and it is magnificent).
