Upriver in the dim start, the two white statues must be Great Egrets
and before the sunhit, an Osprey fishes. The lovely streamlined dives
come up empty-billed both times. A Brahminy Kite passes taking
no interest. Neither do the pair of Sooty Oystercatchers probing rocks
a few metres away. Helios is spectacular for less than a minute
and then becomes too powerful, a blinding furnace, never given
a second look by these birds or the cormorants. Edge of the river
Magpies are carolling in a dead tree with a good perspective.
Perhaps they are taking notice.
