Sooty Oystercatchers

A beautiful morning with the Bellingen Birders, no smoke!

Around 260 Little Black Cormorants flew over in waves
Little Egret and Royal Spoonbill. A Ruddy Turnstone was around rare for Urunga
A Painted Vine Moth caterpillar, Agarista agricola
We saw very few insects, Hardly any butterflies.  Jeff Sparrow writes, ‘The humming of Christmas beetles was once a sign of the season. Where have they gone?
A Christmas Beetle, Anoplognathus boisduvalii. One of about 35 species in Australia.
