Interference, 22 July

I watch the incoming tides forms interference patterns, ten thousand different ways.

This phenomenon was my favourite lesson in Physics, beat electrical circuits: ‘Today we’re going to be looking at the ripple tank to see how two coherent sources can form an interference panel. The maximum amount of superposition occurs when two waves are in phase.’

I stop videoing just as a pair of Sooty Oystercatchers fly past. It’s a shame what we miss out on. So many miss our turning to embrace Helios. So many don’t realise we are turning.

So many don’t realise we are interfering with ecological processes. We are making the oceans sick and are out of phase with the natural world, the seasons and what is happening in the environment.

I pick up plastics on the way back up the beach. A surfer is running away to sea. A Gannet skims the waves.

Wyn sends me an AI of me as a Viking berserker. It is an improvement.

By coincidence, I was writing about the dangers of AI dumbing us down just yesterday. [Se post Chasing Vermeer, A.I.] A friend thinks AI is made by aliens.
