Old Man’s Hat 13 June 2025

is losing more hat, a new wreck is sea-shoved
against the log I have already photographed.

Goose Barnacles cling to death, white algal hairs
comb over the bough, holed by Teredo Worms.

A collapsed driftwood construction leans against
a rock platform, the beach has evaporated.

Stones have replaced sand in the women’s cave
and the sea steeps blue as if nothing happened.

Wyn is throwing stones (to dislodge a plastic body),
Sea squirts model Jeff Koons’s Puppy with barnacles.

Oystercatchers doze, one nestled in a crevice,
the wind is cold and is making a noise.

From the lookout four Ninjas lie on their boards,
no whales in sight, just ice skating on the sea.
