Ngambaa (Stuart's Point)

The Macleay Arm to the north turns into a lake fixed by pale green mountains, and in the centre a pelican is fixed like a relic.

Another swims towards us. The head ducks down, a meal appears in silhouette folded into the pink pouch. The circus performer tosses the fish with the world’s longest bill, repeats the manoeuvre. The fish looks about to escape a number of times. It takes a while to finish the meal.
