1 July 1925

Satie was a genius and one of the most influential composers around the turn of the 20th century. He was a surrealist who dined with Debussy once a week.

John Laidler and I made two videos about him

and Part 2 > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSt-afR9v9U

And Satie can be found in our CD Nine Found Poems in the Shape of a Piano

He was a heavy drinker, and died of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 59.
