A show coming up at the new cultural centre

I have to remind myself that I have a show coming up at the new cultural centre YAM in Coffs Harbour, because it’s not until later in 2024, construction has been delayed etc.

Yurrun.Ga flows from Gumbaynggirr Country and is focused on remediated wetlands, a diminishing habitat.  Roughly 35 per cent of the world’s wetlands were lost between 1970-2015 with the annual rates of loss accelerating from 2000. Action is needed now.

Freshwater wetlands cover about 6% of the planet’s surface but contain 30% of soil carbon. However, they are disappearing at three times the rate of forests. Yet, they are one of the most biodiverse ecosystems.

The show suggests that both cognition and affect are important for us to understand the world, appreciate the world and help positive change where possible. Together they make for the interesting.
