Gliders in the house and garden

We have Feathertail Gliders in the house and Wyn heard a noise this morning went outside and a tiny struggling  glider struggling to get out of a bucket and avoid drowning.

We placed it in small box with some food, closed it up, then opened it at dusk. At some point, the tiny marsupial clambered back home.

We have Greater Gliders and Sugar Gliders in the forest behind us. Feathertails have a scientific name that means the pygmy acrobat, it is the smallest gliding possum.Seven species of glider are found in Australia, most are under threat, from the usual suspects, deforestation, loss of large trees, devlopment and land clearing.
